Max von Senger was a bike messenger and product design student in Berlin when he and his partner Anna decided to turn their obsession into a business. In 2012 they opened Standert in a space in Berlin Mitte — part bike shop, part café, part community hub — with a hand-painted Lucky Cat logo designed by a friend from the Berlin hip-hop scene. Today the Standert showroom on Friedrichstrasse in Kreuzberg is the beating heart of Berlin's road and urban cycling community. Come for a coffee, stay for a conversation about bikes. The team runs regular community rides including the popular Feierabendrunde and weekly women's rides. They roast their own coffee blend with Field Coffee. Test rides and one-on-one consultations are available. Your Brompton will fit right in — this is a place for people who love bikes of all kinds.
