The Berlin Wall Trail — the Mauerweg — follows the full 160-kilometre route of the former inner German border around the city. On a Brompton, you can ride it in sections, folding onto the S-Bahn or U-Bahn whenever you need to skip ahead or call it a day. The trail passes through some of the most historically charged landscapes in Europe: watchtower remnants, memorial sites, former death strips now reclaimed by nature, and neighbourhoods that were divided for 28 years and reunited in a single night. Brompton Traveler documented the Berlin Wall Trail on YouTube in March 2025, riding the highlights on Brompton folding bikes and capturing exactly why this combination — a folding bike and a city built on the idea of crossing borders — makes such perfect sense.
