Daniel Kormann did not open Kultrad because he wanted to run a bike shop. He opened it because he was obsessed with Brompton — so obsessed that he and his partner Karen spent 180 days cycling 5,000 kilometres across the world on their folding bikes. The shop, founded in 2013 in Berlin Mitte, reflects that spirit completely: appointment-only, deeply personal, every bike discussion treated as a conversation rather than a transaction. As a Brompton Excellence Store, Kultrad carries the full range and offers repair workshops alongside its sales. Daniel even writes his own newsletter — by hand, maximum once a month — because he thinks that's the right way to talk to people who love their bikes.
