Before Brompton had a single shop of its own anywhere in Germany, there was Wil Röttgen. Through his company Voss Spezial-Rad, the Brompton was imported and distributed across Germany for over 30 years — from the late 1980s until Brompton took German distribution into its own hands in November 2020. When Wil opened The Urban Mobility Store in Berlin Schöneberg in August 2015, he brought all of that institutional knowledge into one extraordinary shop. With over 200 Bromptons in stock across all lines, it is one of the largest Brompton inventories in Europe. The store offers leasing through all major German providers, repair workshops, repair courses, and test rides. When Brompton CEO Will Butler-Adams flew to Berlin in May 2024 to open the Junction, he personally invited Wil to stand beside him at the opening. That says everything about who built Brompton's German market.
